NegusWorld Youth Oakland Performs In LA For Desmond Tutu's 85th Birthday

When The Desmond Tutu Peace Foundation launched "Peace 3", its newest campaign to reach out to 1 million youth in one year, NegusWorld took on the challenge to represent the venture with a group of young Oakland artists.

NegusWorld wrote the song, approached New York producer Edson Sean to compose the music and brought in Jada Imani and Maleik Dion of Tatu Vison as well as NegusWorld board member Stoney Creation to each write a verse on the track.

The song and music video, directed by Johwell St-Cilien, immediately caught Desmond Tutu's attention: he tweeted about it.

Although a personal message of gratitude from the Archbishop would have been enough to get the young artists excited, it did not stop there. The Foundation flew Tatu Vision and the Stoney Creation to Los Angeles to perform their "Peace 3" song at the Saban Theater.

They shared the stage with bands such as Fishbone and Incubus, and performed in front of an audience of 700 people.

After the show they got to hang out with legendary Quincy Jones, who expressed his love for the young artists.

"This experience has changed my life for ever" admitted Stoney Creation, while Jada and Maleik said they were immensely thankful for the opportunity.

Help us give more of our youth such opportunities and create platforms that will change their lives through positive artistic expression.
